Linen, seersucker, cotton, pink, turquoise, pale blue, green and white; all of which puts you in the mind of a relaxed afternoon. Zachary Prell’s presentation takes you to that place that makes you sigh with a smile.
“Renew” was is the title Zachary Prell’s Spring Summer 17 collection. The pictures in the gallery below are a must see to get how accurate the line embodies the concept.
You can see how form-follows-function is key here in his display. The fit of each look was very relaxed. Everything in its place to give not just the look of relaxed but the fabric of choice also reflected such feeling.
Everything about this presentation was to make all of your senses really get the idea of fresh, new, free. Playing through the presentation was this beautiful ethereal soundtrack called “Beyond the Tide” from the album Science of the Sea by Jurgen Muller. It’s an electronic ambient album inspired by the German artist as he was supposedly studying ocean life on a boat. Long story super short, there is a lot of funny business surrounding the artist’s backstory in creating this work. It’s said to have been created in the early 70’s. So to all my eclectic music lovers, this is the perfect opportunity or subject to dig into some music for some good finds. Shout out to Prell for letting such a creative and nearly ancient but not really work inspire him.
