Can you feel that 90s grunge, punk vibe kicking high? If it isn’t street tech wear or a suit then we see many streetwear lovers rocking cropped pants.
While most sport trendy cropped mid-waist jeans, don’t miss out the very stylish and comfortable cropped pants. Cropped pants are a nice answer for wanting dress things up a little bit. As a matter of fact I have come to really love cropped pants from skater stores.
They always seem to get the size right in terms of being just the right kind of fit to be close to the body but enough room to stay active. I think for most everyday street wear, they are a good alternative to the top go-to fast fashion stores.
From exploring cropped pant fits and becoming disenchanted with some of them, here are three tips for making sure you don’t pickup a pair you hate.
- Always try on cropped pants before buying them. The fit is a bit odd at first and they don’t look amazing with everything.
- Skater shoes or loafers are about the only things that look good with these. The style of shoes that go with these are very limited. Wear a pair of loafers or skater style sneakers or may not like what you see. Sock sneakers and bulky sneakers and flatforms work too.
- All shirts tucked in with a belt or t-shirts and bowling shirts out. Of coarse there are other options but this is whats popular and widely available so try these first.
Check out:
- RVCA for some basic cropped pants.
- Elwood Clothing has some nice picks of muted tones, or attention toned down is your thing. They are of few that offer some cargo vibes.
- Of coarse, Urban Outfitters is a great go to for a variety of colors and patterns.
For this post, I styled my cropped pants with a fitted oxford shirt and some patent leather loafers. Something casual chic for a day time downtown stroll. What do you think about the fit? What do you think about cropped pants?
