This was my first denim DIY project. Of coarse I had fun doing it. My only pair of pink jeans and I was going to either ruin them or make them hot…Get it? As in hot pink?…
Okay maybe I’m lame for that line but as I said it was fun adding cuts to these jeans. Most people only use blue denim to have that blue white torn look in the jeans but as you can see in the photo below, you don’t have that effect when you use colored jeans unless they’ve gone through a wash process.
This look was all about making the jeans the feature and the shoes the flare. You can do that with any outfit by going simple everywhere else in the look. Minimal accessories, plain shirt, no patterns, no prints, no other embellishments other than in the one area you want to be noticed. Also consider the fit. I love a great fitted t-shirt, and to the point of making an item a feature, if you wear clothing that is loose, it will obviously yield a lot of movement in the fabric so the more tailored the piece the less attention it draws to it’s self unless the entire look is tailored.
