THE ASYMMETRICAL VEST

Normally I keep this guy in my closet for the fall. I like to layer it with a leather jacket, matching denim, my funky knee high boots and just give the full Ghost rider with a denim vest look but its still super warm in the south but just right to have my arms out with a thick layer of detailed vest. As you can see in the photos I need a full tanning honestly, this farmers tan…well it works for the aesthetic of the photo but. I’ll be glad when I’m not getting toasted outside.
One of the cool things about wearing asymmetrical garments is that you always have options in terms of what to fold, latch, zip or leave open and it automatically provides several looks without you changing any other part or article of clothing in the outfit. I bought this asymmetrical vest from Forever 21 about two years back to save on the bank.
So here is my tip to guys who like this look but know to find and buy the same look in the mens section cost about 50% more for men. Get it out of the women’s section for super cheap. Here’s what to check for to know if you can pull it off as a guy in a girls garb.

  1. Does it flare at the bottom if no, ROCK IT.
  2. Is the chest clearly cut to accommodate boobs (you’ll no because either the chest bulges when guys put it on or the waist will be super tapered)? if no, KILL it.
  3. Is the color of the fabric or accent buttons, zippers, chains etc, a feminine color (rose gold, pink copper, tints of purple or baby blue)? if not, SMASH it and don’t tell anyone.

Check out the look below.
