It finally feels like the season for sweaters. I’m excited to layer up in the warm and fuzzies but they aren’t all going to be dark colors.
Retailers have had fall and winter items since August and I can finally pull out some of my favorites but I see now that my items don’t always match my vibe. Normally, I’m a pretty mellow low key kinda guy but I like to keep things chipper if I can. Unfortunately all of my sweaters are color-fit into the fall. The iconic olive green, purple, burgundy colors champion my cold weather wear.
As a matter of fact, in some ways my closet matched retailers display. Almost every fast fashion store will stock bright colored winter wear among the fall classics. However it’s hardly ever dressed on a mannequin for you to see outright. Nope. It’s somewhere in the corner of the store folded in among the large quantity of popular items or somewhere you will almost overlook it over and over again.
Now that I know they exist, I look under stuff, move racks to the side whatever I need to do to make sure I don’t miss an item or a color. The good stuff are always in short supply and low demand, these tend to be the items that are out of time. Meaning, they aren’t appreciated at the time they first appear but you won’t be able to buy them when they are the dopest. They become rare gems. Like the Muhamed Ali Adidas Boots I posted about.
The sweater in this post I got from H&M. You will have to search the brick and mortar for this color if they restock it. The other available colors for this Lambswool top are grey, teal, and dark blue.
Remember, just because its bright doesn’t mean its not for the fall. Textures matter. Plus, you can tone down a bright item with a dark item. What do you think of what I did hear?
Note: A big thanks to the staff at Ramble Supply Co. in Raleigh for letting me use their back area for this post.
