Style Tip: Don’t Skip the Bargain/Discount Stores

When shopping for great and rare items I automatically think, find a vintage store but I have learned not to skip the bargain stores.

Did you know that Muhammed Ali had an endorsement contract with Adidas? I wouldn’t have known had I not found these in Ross.

These are the Muhammed Ali Tactical Boots by Adidas.

You can find some pretty cool stuff in the discount stores. Stores like Maxway, Ross, TJ Max, Khols (we can include some department stores with affordable price points) often carry the brand “defects or rejects.”  The defect can be as small as off colored, uneven stitching or finishing, overall low quality, or a mistake in production like the wrong number of shoe string holes, tag etched or sewn in upside down, etc. It’s something you wouldn’t normally notice at first glance. If you’re buying on impulse you’d probably never notice.

When I saw these boots I was maybe a junior in high school (2005). I was into fashion then and I thought these boots were a really nice off shoot from the popular biker look but I couldn’t fit them quiet yet so i wore them maybe once and put them away. I’m glad I kept them all this time.

Long post short, while shopping for those rare items, consider the bargain stores. Large companies throw products away too, in a profitable most times. Many people ask me where I shop and my answer is always, “I Shop EVERYWHERE!?”

Unfortunately, I could not find today’s featured item anywhere on line for sale other then from two or three eBay vendors. These also came in black. Here is a link to one of the vendors. http://bit.ly/2f97x0q

You can find more about Muhammed Ali’s product endorsement here, there are some worth while video featured at this link > http://www.thedrum.com/news/2016/06/04/impossible-nothing-muhammad-alis-greatest-advertising-moments
