So many people are looking for that thing that makes them look “different. A statement necklace is just that but where do they shop? The same places everyone shops. Well so do I but there is a method to it.
Here’s the thing. (In my stereotypical black preacher voice) You must look…in every section, in every corner. Tell your neighbor, “Look in every corner.” As guys, we slant our selection to the mens section. That makes sense. Men’s clothes are for men, the women’s section is for women. However unisex clothing and accessories are real and they leave them in the ladies section because women will buy it without thought in most cases. There are plenty of items that look a certain way depending on what gender is wearing it.
I purposely used the word gender to note that while wearing a unisex item, a male that is more feminine will exude a feminine appeal in all of their attire. The opposite is also true. If the burliest man puts on a dress, the dress takes on an awkwardly masculine flavor depending on how lady like the dress is designed.
So consider the ladies section for something that’s going to stand out. You can gauge if an item, on you, will pass for feminine if that is your concern but try it on. You just may get away with it and no one has to know unless you just want to tell them.
The featured statement necklace in this post I got from Aldo a year or two ago. It’s styled like the luxury brand Dylanlex famously worn by Beyonce, Kendal Jenner, Rhianna etc.. In its original form, there is another tier of pendents. I thought a little less would give the statement just the right amount of royal male appeal so I removed them to bring you this look.
Here’s a tip. “ff you like it but its a little too feminine, tweak it. Don’t not buy it just because of that.”
Clothes showcase/highlight your character or traits, they do not create it/them.
If you want to know, the suit is from H&M.
So tell me, would you or have you tried something like this? Share with me.
