As promised, here is a more modern look to my Get An Overcoat series. Earlier, I told you that a modern overcoat is made without shoulder padding, so you don’t have that square shouldered look and you can see that in this featured look in contrast to my last blog entry.
One of the popular outfit themes with an overcoat is a monochrome or tight color palette (meaning colors very near each other) using the coat as the feature or the accent. Thats pretty much what I did using the classic denim on denim on white shoes look paired with my favorite Ireland Rugby herringbone baseball cap.
Overcoats really do make getting ready so easy provided you have a the right colors to pair them with. Then again, thats why its a good idea to buy overcoats in solids and or neutrals, that way they pair easy with more. All the items I’m wearing can be found almost year round at your local mall or fast fashion retailers, minus the coat. The denim shirt, American Eagle. The pants and overcoat are from 21Men.
