Maybe you missed this year’s NC African Fashion Week fashion display. There are a lot of photos about the world wide web but here are my favorite men’s looks from the day 3 show.
I’d best describe my favorite fashion looks as masculine and conditionally beautiful. African design is a hit or miss experience when it comes to picking what you like. You could easily like a color combination but not the layout or pattern of those colors. The same contrast can happen with pattern versus print or design and any one of the above.
Another touch and go point of African Fashion for me is considering body types. The culture has very very little crossover when it comes to masculine versus feminine designs. So while most men may will not have a feminine build, African men’s fashion tends to look better on men with muscles or “fuller” bodies. To me the look just isn’t the same on us skinny guys. That doesn’t mean skinny guys shouldn’t wear or buy it. It means your gonna have to come up with a different way for the looks to have a sexy appeal if you’re small.
