You know how much I love my vintage consignment shops; the N-p-Elliott brand was giving me that kind of vibe.
To be compared to a vintage consignment shop is of no disrespect. When I go into a vintage shop the experience with clothing is the most memorable thing. It’s about having quality clothing that has lasted years and looks just as great as when it was popular if not better. It’s about the clear notice of a time of higher quality clothing and better craftsmanship in your fingers for modern but meager prices. That’s the vibe I got from the N-p-Elliott presentation at this years New York Fashion Week for Men.
The royal earthy tones were displayed in silk, vinyl, houndstooth, suede, and valor. These are fabrics and prints that you experience, not just wear. Something like being in a real vintage shop. It’s clothing with a story that has been or can be passed down.
Sidenote- I don’t think this was a real ploy to bring K-Swiss back to the forefront but I think that these suede editions were perfect for this presentation. I had to take a close look as I said several times to myself, are those K-Swiss? Really? Really Really? Wow, its kinda nice to see them again. They look great in this collection.
N-p-Elliott was founded in New York in 2013. Avant-garde, it definitely embodies that word.
