Fashion AND Costume Designer Show, Metropolitan Fashion Week

My First Fashion Show in LA – Metropolitan Fashion Week

Let it be written forever, that my introduction to fashion productions in California was via Metropolitan Fashion Week.

Three weeks into living in California and I get an opportunity to volunteer with the Metropolitan Fashion Week production team. For that I’m so grateful to Ms. Shelli Bradley for putting me on and to Ms. Damaris (one fo the backstage production managers) for making me feel a part even though I didn’t quite make it on time to get the experience every other volunteer got. However, what I did walk away with was an amazing view of the show, a list of contacts and hundreds of amazing shots from before, during and after the runway show.

As you know from watching my IG stories, I’m still “winning in my mind” and counting my victories where I can from this great leap. Among those victories was meeting and being in the presence of new and renown photographers, astounding costume designers including, Ms. Cynthia Summers (famously known as the costume designer of “A Series of Unfortunate Events”), talking with the president of Metropolitan Fashion Week and being amongst so many amazing and affluent people in California.

Metropolitan Fashion week is a platform that showcases, fashion and costume designers in the same event. Check out more about them and their shows here.

The theme for the opening evening show was Greek Mythology, so you’ll see costumes inspired various figures of greek lore.

With that in mind, I thought it’d be great to share with you the photos I shot from the show. Check them out below.
