My love for vintage apparel is becoming ever more apparent. Today’s feature look is completely 1920’s Vintage pants.
One of the more iconic looks of the that time period are high waist pants, semi-wide oxford shirts and the common suspenders. Choosing this look was more about showing appreciation for attention design in mens casual wear.
Today, the best and popular approach to men’s dress and casual wear is slim pants and pinned at the waist jackets. However, the Roaring 20’s as the call it showed us that men’s fashion could take a direction that would still exude the manly structure in men’s wear while serving an edge up in fashion.
Casual wear has never been presented to be more easy and chic at the same time. Having the pants stop at right over the belly button with your shirt tucked in side not only gave the trimmed toned look provided by a girdle or real abs; it made the entire look more sharp. Put on a vest and the outfit because seamless, structurally and directionally cohesive from collar to hem.
The more I dig into vintage wear the easier I see it is to pair old school items with something recently released and end up with all kinds of looks from times before now. That just goes to show fashion enthusiasts that having great style or the eclectic approach to great style is revealed in the totality of classic wear. Its not just a suit, there are more pieces that keep circling around.
