You may already have your collection of cardigans and sweaters for the fall but have you tried buying mesh jackets?
Mesh is perfect for when the weather allows for light layering. If you’ve tried on mesh in the early summer, you know that any wind that blows over mesh jackets feels colder on your skin. However, during the mid to late summer netted mesh feels like a light sweater especially when warm air blows through. This temperature boosting construct is great for light layering in the fall.
It’s outerwear that acts as an accessory. On top of your amazing graphic or knit sweaters or something solid, a netted mesh jacket would be a great way to accent colors or enhance a color scheme or theme.
In today’s featured look, I’m rocking a wholesale mesh jacket that I found on eBay.
This look was somewhat inspired by an Adidas campaign from several years back. Adidas by Jeremy Scott was avant garde around the early 2000’s. He presented the chain and mesh jackets.
This turns the idea of a jacket into having the use of something like a scarf. Rarely will someone just walkout on the street with no shirt on wearing a jacket like this. But, how many ways can this be styled? So many if you think about adding a collared shirt, a graphic t-shirt, a turtleneck, a mesh shirt, body chains, etc.
Another form follows function concept. This is not for warmth, it’s for embellishment.
I like the look of my black and white floral mesh on top of my turtleneck. To give it a fal
l edge, I paired with a leather pair of shorts that I got from Forever 21
along with long socks (for warmth) and sneaker boots.

Do you have any mesh wear? How do you make use of it during fall? Or do you just pack it away?
