You cannot avoid wearing black and be fashionable on a budget. So I came up with this strong suggestion to comfortably wear black in the summer time. Keep it loose and keep it light.
Kimonos. Kimonos are not just for asian cultures or just for the ladies. They can become your good friend when you want try something as risky as black in the summer. Kimonos are the foreign friend to the cigar jacket. Therefore, they can be dressed to look classy or comfy and chic.
More importantly, for this post, they are a good idea for wearing something that absorbs light and heat but doesn’t stick to your body. Guys they are a good enough reason to have a flowy top in your wardrobe.
Surprisingly and for the low, I got this from Levis. I lucked up on this one for sure especially since I went to one of their outlet stores to get it.
Adding in these trendy tapered black side striped slacks and these black mules brings the idea full circle. Black in the summer is daunting to try to pull off. Adding a light colored item to the ensemble can keep you cool while looking sexy. Also, you’ll look comfortable.
Since Kimonos are pretty much shirts, you can wear them a number of ways. As you can see in this post. I decided to belt it. I like to belt things, like that jacket I posted about last fall.
Just for kicks. I switched out the black kimono for another light weight shirt. Please don’t be offended but the print on the shirt. I like it first and foremost because of its style and fit. Its by Your Neighbors, partnership retailer to Urban Outfitters. (Follow me on instagram to see the shirt.)
