Jumpsuits: Man I Love The 80s

Yo! I Love the 80s Fashion especially jumpsuits. Especially anything that looks like it would be worn by Ron Johnson from A Different World.

That show is my mood board almost everyday. I love the colors, the pattern mixes, the way the clothes would fit. I adore the shoe choices and the hair styles. That show is the golden fashion rule for hipster streetwear for every age and I love it.

The look in this post is inspired by that era.

As far as I could find, suits like these were made mostly by women for women. The shoulders pads speak to the idea of women wanting to be seen equal to men. We first see shoulder pads in women’s suits, which were said to help exude power by accentuating the shoulders. While that may have been the idea for women in the 80s and 90s, it’s not the case now.

I think the slight pads give this fit an extraordinary shape. Also, since the attitudes have changed about the difference in women’s wear and men’s wear. I think jumpsuits like these and garments still incorporating shoulder pads can be seen as fitting for men’s wear.

That’s one of thing that I love about 80s fashion, it was a time when a lot of genre’s mixed. More rebellions became norms and the fashion world became more creative and highly expressive.

Unfortunately, these jumpsuits are still hard to find. The vintage adventure is always in the digging. However hot items of some periods are items people do not let go of. A jumpsuit like this, I prolly won’t ever release into the fashion wild either.

With the rise of bulky sneakers, we get to see an 80s brand, Fila, come back to the front among others. As you can see, I’m rocky the Fila Disruptor 2’s with the gum bottoms.

You know what would be dope? If Urban Outfitters would sale recreated jumpsuit looks for men. That would make sense and be so dope since they have been one of many retailers using old vibes for this generation.

Considering how fall is all about light layering, I think if we take few notes from the 80s, we can find some other creative things to do with fall fashion. Say it with me 80s for the Fall. Can we have more one pieces in thicker layers. Lets continue with more mixed prints. I can’t wait to see how tech wear starts to bloom as well as bulky sneakers, however I know a touch of 80s and 90s in almost everything would keep fashion evolving. Think about that.

Are you an 80s fashion lover? What show is a great example of the fashion era you love the most?
