INSPIRATION: URBAN KNITWEAR

Its cold and one of the most basic ways to be well dressed and warm is to don a wool suit, a shirt and cardigan, or a shirt and sweater combination finished with a scarf. You can be just as well dressed or at least look like you put some thought into your outfit of the day by looking to urban knitwear retailers.

This season, more brands are featuring long sweaters and long cardigans in their recent collections. Long knitwear can be approached the very same way as  a trench coat, an overcoat or just as an extra layer over your outfit while right under your big long fluffy coat if you live in colder windy areas.

One of my favorite places to shop for dope urban knitwear is  Click this link to check out some edgy designed casual urban apparel.

This look features a long geo pattern sweater coat that I found at a local Express store.

I love things that are black and white and unfortunately I found it in the women’s section. That’s not a problem though. When getting things out of the women’s section, one of two main things to pay attention to is structure. I look for notes of traditional menswear construction. Since menswear has traditionally been designed with no catering to men’s curves, I look for big square nearly shapeless design to make sure that I can at least have an ambiguous look. Thats what you will see in this look; a long non conturing sweater. Stick with this rule and you will always have the secret of a dope wardrobe, paying ladies prices (cheaper) and no one will ever know the difference until you tell them or unless they shop the same way.

The under sweater is from Urban Outfitters knitwear collection from 2014, its been discontinued.
