Who says that every fall you have to don the famous dark sultry colors we are used to. Why not bring a little spring joy to your sombre fall wardrobe by looking for bright colors in your go-to fall/winter fabrics.
It’s not common that we find spring colors in our favorite fast fashion stores. Unless, an out of season color is trending or an inverted color trend happens, it will always be uncommon. Don’t not look though. As I said sometimes an out of season color will trend into another season, and if one color trends it’s a good chance so will its complimentary color (click here to learn about complimentary colors)
This is where department stores are a good resource. Stores like Belk, Macy’s, Nordstrom normally carry all colors in sweaters and dress shirts. Also consider dress and dress casual stores where bright colors are staples to the culture they sale too. Stores like Brooks Brothers, Banana Republic and J.Crew should come to mind.
In this featured look, it was all about embracing the color of the acrylic sweater from HM (see fashion store) and these cotton pants I picked up from American Eagle in the spring (cotton is good for every season.) I grabbed these chunky knit cotton blend socks for warmth and color from Urban Outfitters. Just for kicks and giggles, I was already in the direction of Easter, I paired the look with my pink slip-ons from Gap.
One thing to remember blended fibers and synthetics are always warm. They tend trap heat effectively, but take caution when considering how much of it you are wearing, your skin needs to breathe.
