I never knew how much my legs rubbed together when I walk until I wore my utility kilt today. I noticed the rubbing mainly because i wore briefs instead of trunks today. In the large scheme of things, that was the only misfortune about wearing the kilt.
I’ve always said ladies lucked up by having skirts in their standard list of things to wear. The experience of a utility kilts is life changing. More so because I was wearing a Freemen by Mickey Freeman kilt.
Compared to the standard wool, school girl uniform looking skirt, these feel very functional and manly.
To the touch they feel like a solid pair of work overalls, comfortable and smooth enough to wear but strong enough to make sense for working in.
The its built to start around the lower part of your abdomen like a back brace or a cummerbund which feels secure, not tight. It’s also advantageous if you are trying to hide a gut or belly, to all of the slim fat gentlemen.
Although they look like skirts, these are not the flutter in the wind type skirts. The cotton is heavy and rigid enough to keep its shape while you move about. You’ll feel like you are walking a skirt for men. Something on the edge of unrestrictive but secure and clean looking enough to be presentable.
I love most the fact that its easy to get in and out these and the easiest thing to layer with. They are just as comfortable paired with jeans. It’s super easy to go the bathroom without having take off anything and to top that there are functional pockets.
The price point for these are in the low end of luxury, priced around $150 and almost $300 for his new line of leather kilts. Having a little understanding of garment construction and a first hand experience with the denim ones, I’d say the price point is fair. Trust me, just touching the piece will tell all. For a statement piece like this, it’s worth the asking price. Either you want heads to turn or you want something that will last years. This is both of those things.
Here’s the link to add to your wardrobe the >Black Denim Kilt< I have on in this post.
For this post, I wanted to rock my utility kilt with a street dressy vibe. A wool jacket, tie and suspenders up top, sneakers and long socks at the bottom. Half street, half suited and a Freeman in the middle. What do you think of this look?
