The first Demode Meetup is one of the clearest signs that Raleigh’s fashion scene is on the rise, bringing hipsters from all over Carolina together to just be cool kids gathering in the park, sharing ideas, and making working connections. It’s a movement to show the nation, the world, that Raleigh is no slow community when it comes to the dopest underground music, the flyest street fashion brands, and the chillest (its okay if I make up words right) network of working men and women in the underground and progressing local entertainment scene.
It started with a social media post of a time and location to meet up and the word spread as expected. Founder of Demode clothing, AJ (@byajohnson) got the idea to try to something out, that being an informal networking event with his NC audience just to see what the turn out would be. Art lovers of all types from designers, music artists, dancers, painters, photographers, models, MUA’s, etc showed up. As expected of a somewhat flash hipster get together it was cool vibes and ideas of growth all evening.
The group is highly likely to meet again with a note of when and where going in circulation on social media. If you’d like to get in on the dope network of creators in NC, be sure to follow me @coulstyle or @demodeclothing on Instagram and other social media platforms.
