Every now and again we are hit with a revival of a very very recent trend. This year, fatigue resurfaced explosively in retail.
When there are no obvious fashion trends, retail seems to grab something that is tried and true. As we approached the beginning of fall, it looked like fatigue was that something. It was everywhere. Thankfully, we did not see the cliche jeans and fatigue combination.
So did you catch the fatigue retail bug? Was your closet beginning to look like you shopped at the army surplus store? Hopefully not as we can see that was just a fashion transition saver. Meaning, stores needed something that would help them make money until a trend became apparently popular and financially successful.
I did not catch the bug but I will admit that this transitional craze in retail produced some pretty dope options to add to my wardrobe. I found these pretty cool kicks at Aldo that features this small toe cap of olive green fatigue print.
What I love most about this shoe is the sole shape or proportion. I love that it looks like most of the sneaker sits on the front of the sole with a little cliff at the back. It gives the sneaker a boot type vibe which is perfect for a fall transitional outfit.
I could have gone all out with more fatigue through out the outfit but I wanted to keep it simple. I added a street robe from Forever 21 over a short sleeve oxford from Zara and urban skinny joggers sold at H&M.
It’s just fine if you didn’t catch the fatigue retail bug. This is a good opportunity to grab you some olive green and colors complimentary to it. Earth tones have always been popular for the first half of fall. Any season we’ve where fatigues have come up popular have yielded amazing fall and earth tone apparel.
You can use this to come up with some really cool combinations outside of the white and green that I presented. All of these color can be used on top of your fatigue or any print for commonly used fall colors. Check out the site Creative Color Schemes to try out your own color schemes.
